Kirsti Taiviola has won the 1st prize in the Art Competition of the Altar Piece for Söderkulla Church with her entry ”Auringon laulu”. The winning glass work was announced on Thursday 25.10. At Söderkullan church in Sipoo.

Five artists were invited to take part to the competition organised by parish church of Sipoo. The jury unanimously selected Taiviola’s work as the winner. The work consists of 365 pieces of hand-blown glass pieces, which are as many as days in a year. The work is collaborative, as the colors of the glass pieces come from nature photographs taken by local parishioners.
