Stop Time – Stop Motion

The Kanneltalo LUX programme, curated by Katja Muttilainen (Finnish Light Art Association FLASH), explores white light, shadows, and the aesthetics of early animation in Stop Time – Stop Motion. The programme invites visitors to engage with sharp, playful shadow effects and the illusion of frozen movement. The featured artists are Kirsti Taiviola and Risto Puurunen.

Visitors are welcome to meet the artists and the curator during a Finnish-language guided introduction on Tuesday 6 January 2026 at 5:30 pm at Kanneltalo (Klaneettitie 5).

The works can be viewed at Kanneltalo on 6th January 2026, from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm, and from 7–11 January 2026, daily 9:00 am–10:00 pm, during Kanneltalo’s opening hours.
