05/30/2019
Kirsti Taiviola exhibits her latest installation work, 180 Days in Random Order, in WHY NOT – Exhibition in Nuutajärvi Glass Village, Urjala, Finland. The summer exhibition presents an exceptionally large amount of Finnish glass makers and the exhibition will spread around the cultural village of Nuutajärvi.

Finnish artists, designers and glassblowers who work with hot glass and have had some connection with Nuutajärvi during their career have been invited to the exhibition. The Fulbright fellow at Nuutajärvi, the American artist Jonathan Capps, brings an international dimension to the exhibition. He has worked closely with Finnish glass makers in many different roles in the idea and production of works as well as in the realization of the exhibition.

The name of the exhibition comes from questions, surprises and foreign techniques when two different artists meet. These encounters have resulted in open-minded collaboration, the results of which are present throughout the summer.

Exhibition in open daily 11:00-16:00, 31.5.-1.9.2019
